Sayyida al Hurra Governor and Corsair Tetouan 1515 ~ Comfort Colors Tee

Ran the City by Day ~ Ran Spain Ragged by Sea

When her husband died in 1515, Sayyida al Hurra took over the government of Tetouan and kept it for 27 years. She also ran corsair raids against Spain and Portugal, in partnership with Barbarossa of Algiers. Two full time careers, one woman, and neither of them was the kind you leave at the office.

• For the woman with two job titles and no backup: Buy it for the mom who runs the business and the household, the nurse with a side hustle, and the friend whose calendar makes other people tired.
• Delegation, declined: She could have picked governor or corsair, and she looked at both and said yes.
• Governed within: Part of Pirate Queens, where the side hustle had cannons.
