Never Forget Black Tot Day ~ The Day the Navy Went Dry

On 31 July 1970 the Royal Navy poured its last daily rum ration and a tradition older than most countries went over the side. Sailors held mock funerals. Some of them, apparently, never stopped mourning.

• Veteran's Remembrance: For the sailor who still raises a glass on the last day of July and expects you to join.
• History Buff's Conversation Starter: The date is real, the grief is real, and the story at the bar gets better every year.
• Rum Locker Memorial: The locker observes the anniversary properly, which is to say with a full measure.
