Libertalia The Pirate Utopia Probably Fiction 1728 ~ Comfort Colors Tee

A Perfect Pirate Society ~ Read the Fine Print

A 1728 volume of the General History of the Pyrates describes Libertalia, a pirate utopia founded by a Captain Misson. Historians have looked hard and found no colony and no captain. The finest place pirates ever built appears to have been built on paper.

• For the reader who checks the sources: Buy it for the book club skeptic, the librarian who flags Wikipedia, and the friend whose utopia is a quiet room with nobody in it.
• Citation, needed: One chapter in a 1728 volume spawned three centuries of wishful thinking.
• Shelved under: Part of Pirate History & Legends, where the legends get labeled honestly.
