I Came Ashore for One Rum ~ The Island Had Other Plans

Port day had a plan: a short walk, one drink at the place with the view, back aboard by three. The place with the view had a hammock, a band and a bartender who remembered a cousin from last season. Three became a suggestion, and the walk back to the pier got a little slower and a lot more scenic.

• Port Day Testimony: For the cruiser who never books the excursion and always finds the best bar on the island anyway.
• One Drink, Loosely Defined: The word one has never done so much work as it does on a Caribbean afternoon.
• Shore Leave Shelf of the Locker: The Rum Locker counts one rum per port and does not audit what a port is.
