Buried Treasure Mostly a Myth ~ Comfort Colors Tee

The Exception That Kept the Legend Alive

Ask any serious detectorist and they will tell you pirates almost never buried anything, right before heading out at dawn with a shovel in the truck. For the weekend hunter, the trivia-night ringer who loves a correction, and the friend who has read every Kidd theory twice.

• The One Documented Time: William Kidd left a cache on Gardiners Island, New York, in June 1699; Lord Bellomont's authorities recovered and inventoried it, and Kidd was hanged at Execution Dock in London on 23 May 1701.
• Detectorist Gift: Birthday, Father's Day, or the day the new coil arrives.
• Myth Busters Welcome: Ideal for whoever says actually at the start of a good story.
